About

Beacon, 2023 - Oil on canvas - 80 x 80 cm

Borne by "life-forming questions," existential inquiries that often hold an underlying sense of loneliness, the practice finds its roots in the autobiographical. It expands outward to speak to the "Other," investigating the tangled relationship between the physical and the psychological across the individual and the collective.

The work oscillates between image, subject, and object to capture the intangible nature of time and the quiet interplay between internal thought and sensory perception. Figures are treated not as specific portraits, but as anonymous vessels and psychological thresholds for universal reflection.

The practice serves as an intentional grounding, a fertile site of quiet preservation where one can return, decelerate, and reflect. Through intimacy, softness, and delicacy, the paintings seek to establish a boundary of protection and freedom—a motherly act of care and embrace.
